Brave Steps
Gentle, step-by-step practice for facing worries, at your own pace. Offline, private, no account.
Brave Steps is a calm, private companion for gentle, step-by-step practice. You choose small steps, take them one at a time, can jot down what the worry says, and calm tools are there whenever a step feels like too much.
You pick something small that you would like to feel easier about, like touching a door handle, and stay with it for a few minutes at your own pace. Brave Steps helps you plan those steps, stay with them, and see how far you have come.
What it does
- Build your ladder: list the things that worry you and rate each one from 0 (calm) to 10 (very anxious). The ladder is sorted easiest first, and you can reorder it any time.
- Practise at your pace: pick a step and set a goal, from 1 minute up to an hour. A large, simple timer keeps the screen awake while you practise.
- Rahma, your companion inside the app, checks in every few minutes so you can note how you feel with one tap.
- A worry note if you want one: before a practice, write down what the worry says will happen. Afterwards you can see it again and add what actually happened. It is optional and stays on your phone.
- If a step feels like too much, a quiet "This feels like too much" button is on every main screen. It says stopping is fine and suggests a smaller step next time.
- See your progress: minutes practised, days this week and total days practised, with a simple chart for each step.
- Everything you enter stays on your phone. No account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Not copied to cloud backups.
- Large buttons, readable text that follows your phone's font size, and screen reader support.
Brave Steps is a self-help tracker. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition, and it is not a replacement for professional care or support from a trained person. If your worries feel overwhelming, or you ever feel unsafe, please talk to your doctor or a mental health professional.
The helpline buttons in the app are for UK numbers (Samaritans, NHS 111 and 999). If you live outside the UK, please use your local emergency number or a helpline near you.
