Quran Word Garden
The 50 most common Quran words, read together with your child. Urdu or English.
Quran Word Garden is a reading garden for a child and a grown-up. It grows the 50 words that appear most often in the Quran.
It is a reading app, not a listening app. There is no sound at all. The grown-up reads, the child looks, points and says the word back.
What it does
- A lesson is three words: a word card with the Arabic word, its meaning, a calm picture and a small "you do it" action for the two of you.
- Each word is shown inside a real ayah, written exactly as it appears, with the word lit up, its reference and the translation. Then the translation hides and your child finds the word in the ayah.
- 50 seeds in 5 beds. A word grows from seed to sprout to bud to flower as your child keeps getting it right.
- Spaced review: a new word comes back the same day, then after 1, 3, 7 and 14 days. A grown-up sets 5 or 8 review words a day.
- After 10 words the little helpers open (wa, bi, li, al, and the endings hum and kum). After 20 words come the word families.
- Pick Urdu or English on the first screen and change it any time. In Urdu the whole app turns right to left and uses Nastaliq.
- No people in any picture. Words that name Allah are shown as the word itself in calligraphy.
- Works fully offline and asks for no permissions. No ads, no accounts, no analytics.
Quran text from Tanzil (tanzil.net), copied word for word with full harakat. Word counts from the Quranic Arabic Corpus.
